TOM FORD EYEWEAR
THE SPRING/SUMMER 2013 COLLECTION
For Spring-Summer 2013, Tom Ford presents striking frames that are evolutions of his best-selling eyewear designs. Crafted from exquisite materials and featuring superb fabrications, the new collection includes 22 new sunglass frames and 14 optical frames for women and men.
There are fourteen new sunglass designs for women including the Grant (267), a rounded, mask-like design that takes inspiration from 1960’s ski goggles. An extremely distinctive, bat-wing frame is offered in two versions: the exaggerated Bardot (284), and the subtler shape of the Lana (280). The season’s bold new eyewear direction is seen in the Nastasya (304), a metal cat-eye frame made of shiny palladium or shiny rose gold.
The collection also offers sensual new ways to wear color. The injected cat-eye, Anastasia (303), is offered in six shades including shiny orange, violet, and bluette. The vintage-inspired Christophe (279) is offered in nine shades that include stripped brown with a violet, gray or rose base.
Three frames deliver a new twist on TOM FORD’s most popular women’s sunglass styles. The Francoise (272) is a larger and more rounded version of the iconic Whitney design. The Jade (277) revisits the TOM FORD criss-cross front in a lightweight frame with metal rims around the lenses and the Vivienne (278) is an update of the Jennifer frame in rich acetate.
Modern designs with vintage inspirations complete the women’s sunglass line-up. The Alicia (275) and Candice (276) reinvent the soft sophistication of a rounded, 1950’s silhouette, while the Cori (282) and Faye (281) combine plastic frames with sleek metal bridges.
The Cole (285) is an elegant and easy-to-wear unisex update of the aviator shape.
A striking combination of injected rims, metal temples and a unique metal bridge gives the Robbie (286) its head-turning look. The style comes with 2 sets of lenses; one mounted and one enclosed. The metal-front Tate (287) has a sexy edge while the Callum (289) and Lennon (288) are masculine shapes with a vintage feel. The rounded Rock (290) evokes a timeless look with its plastic front and metal bridge and the richly colored Flynn frame (291) showcases Tom Ford’s distinctive take on retro style with its slightly peaked bridge.
Optical frames for women this season include a new design with an oval shape (5251). This eye-catching new silhouette benefits from richly hued, curved plastic. Women also get vintage-inspired acetate frames with metal ‘T’ inserts on the temple offered in subtle oval (5244), rounded (5245) and wide silhouettes (5246). Meanwhile (5249, 5250), are slimmer plastic frames with metal temples. This season, Tom Ford introduces a new, thin-rimmed design for an especially sophisticated woman. One version combines acetate frames with metal temples (5247) while the other is taken to wider extremes in shiny, delicate metal (5248).
Men’s optical frames this season include a vintage-style frame made of thick acetate in five rich colors including olive green and dark grey (5252, 5253). Tom Ford also takes inspiration from timeless, 1920’s masculine style with a rich acetate frame finished with the signature ‘James Bond’ temple hinge (5254). A thin-frame in metal (5255, 5256) gives the wearer a more discreet look.
Finally, the Spring-Summer 2013 collection presents a men’s optical frame with a distinctive style that is the optical version of the TOM FORD Jasper sunglass frame.
